This is an extremely old-fashioned striped pullover shirt from the end of the 19th century. If you look closely, the striped pattern looks like a rugged pattern, but when you pull it apart, it’s an elegant stripe. There is no yoke switching in the shoulder area, and it must be a single piece of fabric. Also, the fact that the stripes fall in a straight line rather than a curved line shows that this shirt was made using an idyllic method. The sewing specifications, all of which are finished with lockstitching, and the straight sleeves are reminiscent of a time when clothing did not yet have the concept of ready-to-wear. Patterned work shirts at the time were expensive, so they were probably worn not by miners or farmers, but by railway workers providing services.
